Causeway to Flotilla Island Temporarily Closed for Repair

The causeway/driveway to Flotilla Island is closed to vehicle traffic effective Sunday 9 January 2022 while an erosion issue is addressed.

On Saturday 8 January 2022, a member in attendance at the Boating Activities Committee meeting inadvertently found the eroded spot when the front wheel of their truck dropped into it as they were leaving Flotilla Island.  The truck was pulled out with no damage and the problem investigated.

In an abundance of caution, access to Flotilla Island will be closed until the necessary repairs can be made. If for some reason you need to go to our facility, please park at the gate and walk in.  Volunteers hope to complete repair work on the causeway within the next couple of weeks and we will announce when it is reopened to vehicle traffic.

If you have any questions, please contact Cdr Mike Urquhart.
