Lake Murray Members Enjoy Annual Oyster Roast
As much a tradition as Lake Murray’s annual oyster roast is the cold weather
that seems to come each time we schedule this delicious event; and this year was
no different.
Braving brisk temperatures and a cold wind on 15 January, more than 100
members came out to Flotilla to enjoy 110 pounds of shrimp and nine bushels of
oysters prepared by Commander Lee and his crew of volunteers.
“It wasn’t too cold – just good oyster eating weather!” explained P/C David
Allen, noting that several members even boated to Flotilla for this year’s
oyster roast.
