America's Boating Channel Kick's Off National Safe Boating Week
With Video Featuring Lake Murray Members

On 16 May, the U.S. Coast Guard approved "TRAILERING A BOAT" for public release on America's Boating Channel on YouTube to kick-off National Safe Boating Week. You can access and share the streaming version of the video at TRAILERING A BOAT, which will publicly premiere on 21 May.

Feel free to share the video now.

America’s Boating Channel Project Manager Marty Lafferty and his wife, Sari, spent 24-29 April with members of Lake Murray Power Squadron to video "TRAILERING A BOAT." LMPS helped with organizing venues and on-camera talent for all roles, making this an exclusive LMPS video. In addition, LMPS members also will appear in portions of various other videos that will air throughout Season Six of America's Boating Channel. America’s Boating Channel is produced by the United States Power Squadrons under a grant administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The photo on the right was taken during the pre-production meeting at Flotilla Island on Sunday 24 April. Scroll down for other photos captured throughout the week on location at Flotilla Island, Jakes Landing, Lake Murray Marina, Lighthouse Marina, the home docks of members who live lakeside, and concluding with a cast party at the Social Grill in Ballentine.

America's Boating Channel Launches TRAILERING A BOAT
Video Premiere Coincides with National Safe Boating Week

Raleigh, NC, 20 May 2022 – The second video in America’s Boating Channel's™ sixth season of boating safety and boater education videos, "TRAILERING A BOAT," will premiere this Saturday morning May 21 at 9 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on the internet and through social media.

The new title will debut on AmericasBoatingChannel.com and America's Boating Channel on YouTube to kick-off National Safe Boating Week.

"TRAILERING A BOAT" covers how to safely attach and tow boats on trailers. Viewers will learn techniques for maneuvering at launch ramps. Also featured are inspection and maintenance tips for boat trailers.

The new video exclusively features members of the Lake Murray Power Squadron, with special thanks to TowBoatUS for on-site support in South Carolina.

America’s Boating Channel videos are enjoying higher viewership levels as Americans have increasingly turned to boating as a recreational outlet during the coronavirus pandemic. Screening boater education videos is an excellent way for boaters to prepare for safer experiences on the water.

America’s Boating Channel’s sixth season of videos, which will premiere throughout the 2022 boating season, includes “FIRE EXTINGUISHER REGULATIONS,” “TRAILERING A BOAT,” “DEFENSIVE BOATING,” “ELECTRONIC CHARTS AND VIRTUAL ATONS,” COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC,” “LIFE JACKET WEAR,” “BOAT OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES,” "NAVIGATING INLETS," “ELECTRONIC VISUAL DISTRESS SIGNALS,” and “CAPACITY COMPLIANCE.”

America's Boating Channel is also accepting input for its new “INLET DRONE VIDEOS” offering, which will feature narrated aerial video coverage of high-traffic US waterway entrances. The video service recently completed filming at Cape Fear, North Carolina, the first inlet to be covered in its new series. To learn more, email INFO@AmericasBoatingChannel.com.
